Kurt Warner: Not Just Any QB

So the Arizona Cardinals win last night. Woo hoo!

I'm not a big football fan. I'm not a big Cardinals fan. I've been to Arizona twice.

But I AM a big Kurt Warner fan.

Who wouldn't be?
He graduated from one of my alma maters (Go Panthers!)
He stocked shelves at my favorite grocery store where Chilean Sea bass is now $23.99/lb :(
He's a corn-fed Iowa boy.
He's married to a nurse (we nurses share unspoken bonds).
My favorite table at the OP is the one beneath his Rams Superbowl jersy.

And he's irrevocably commited to Jesus. Football does not define him. Read his book "All Things Possible." It will convince you. He is truly a man of God with undying devotion to his family. And it wasn't a simple, clean, easy road for him. Is it ever?

I don't care if you call me a groupie. Go Cardinals, Go Kurt, Rah Yeah God! (and not necessarily in that order).

(Photo taken in Cedar Falls at a fund raiser for the Red Cross after Kurt & St. Louis Rams 2000 Superbowl win - many hairstyles and lens changes ago! But Ron Burgundy never changes. How does that work??)

Hey, Candy... I had to pop over from Pete's blog to say hi! :) Small world (and yet, so large since I noticed you on a Nashville blog). I'm a good friend of Bobbi Earles and used to nanny for Alex when she was first born; she always had the nicest things to say about you and Ron.

Snooped around your blog a bit and will be back to check in. Hope you have a lovely week...

ok, I'll give you Kurt, since he follows Christ, but that is all. My guy is Brett Favre. I know he's not playing in the playoffs, but I was crushed that he wasn't able to play in Green Bay anymore, and followed him with the Jets. I believe he knows Jesus as his Lord and Savior too.
You look more youthful now, then back then.

@stephanie Oh, I LOVE Favre too! He just wasn't on TV last night. And I never got my picture taken with him :) I accept your compliment with grace and humility - I think it's the hair :\

Okay...I'm not interested in football very much, except for an occasional college game. But...had to comment on your picture. You're beautiful...then AND now!

Also, I'm wondering if you have some tips for me. Bo (a.k.a., Baby Boy)has signed up for a Daniel Fast in his youth group. Besides legumes (which he won't eat), what can I give the boy for protein? He won't be eating meat, bread, or sweets for this 21-day fast. He said they can eat fish, but he doesn't like fish, either. Are there some particular protein powders that you recommend? I can toss a mean salad, and can prepare any and all veggies. I'm mainly concerned about the protein. Can he have eggs and remain faithful to this fast? I guess I need to research it. He just now told me about it, so I better get busy!

Please keep Bo in your prayers as he fulfills this commitment to the Lord

Blessings...

I am clueless about sports, but he is handsome. And hey -- an Iowa boy (my husband loves visiting Iowa)!

I have an award for you on my page -- come and get it when you can. :o)

Love,
Beth

P. S. I forgot to mention that Bo is allergic to tree nuts, and doesn't like legumes or tofu...picky, picky, picky! This will be an interesting three weeks.
