"Not Me!" Monday

Head on over to MckMama's blog for the inspiration for my "Not me!" Monday post!

I did not totally become the Scrooge I said I wasn't going to be when I didn't get one single Christmas decoration out this weekend. I have the house all festive and decorated for Christmas. Uh huh. Right.

I did not become frustrated when my mom pulled out a two page list of everything she's done in the past month to read to us after the Thanksgiving dinner. I mean everything. Mowing lawn. Mulching leaves. Breaking the lawn mower. Talking to neighbors. And everything in between. It did not take an hour, at least. It was not embellished with every single detail of every activity, with a little ADD on the side. It did not have every grandchild squirming in their seats and rolling their eyes. It did not result in hilarious, sarcastic remarks that elicited genuine belly laughs we haven't heard at that dinner table for many years. And Gma did not laugh with us. What a great sport she is. How I have become her, but please, can that "becoming" stop here?

I did not have a delightful time with a baby this weekend. Baby fix! Baby fix! All my blog friends talk about their little kiddos and my arms do not ache for baby cuddles and to hold my own (who could all probably bench press me). When the opportunity came to babysit for a friend, I was not all over it like white on rice (or brown on rice, as is the case at my house). So having my own "babies" here, as well as a real baby, made the weekend complete, with the exception of my baby girl who chose to give her weekend holiday time to friends and acquaintances in need. As much as I did not miss her, oh, how it did my heart good. At least she got to join in the Gma stories...and the pie.

I did not observe Ron Burgundy, when we went to the gym together Sunday afternoon, talk to friends for an entire 45 minutes while I proceeded to work out. He is the only person I know who can make talking an aerobic exercise. And then he did not wonder how I got finished so soon. Hmmmm. And he's still so skinny. Maybe I should try that.

Baby's are wonderful. That's why I work in NICU, otherwise I would have 10 of them myself. Great NMM's

Oh, it scares me how much I keep getting like my mother. My hope for my daughter is she gets all the good, then improves on the bad.

I still need to try pomegranate green tea, it sounds so yummy.
